  • From The Ashes of Betrayal Description: In the heart of Mafoluku, Oshodi in Lagos Nigeria, a quiet storm brews behind the faded curtains of a modest apartment. Aderonke, a devoted wife with dreams of a simple, happy life, wakes up to a reality far darker than anything she imagined, her husband Chinedu, the man she trusted with her heart, is having a secret affair with her own cousin, Yemi. What begins as a kitchen whisper explodes into a tale of betrayal, heartbreak, and the collapse of everything Aderonke once called home. As secrets unravel and loyalties are tested, Aderonke must confront the unthinkable:the crumbling of her marriage, the fracture of family bonds, and the deep pain of public shame. But from the ashes of her devastation, Aderonke rises. With the help of her loyal friend Amina, she journeys through divorce, disgrace, and relocation, rebuilding her life from scratch. As Yemi’s shocking death sparks bitter accusations and Chinedu spirals into despair and ultimately meets a tragic end, Aderonke discovers not just peace, but a new purpose. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos, Nigeria, “from The Ashes of Betrayal ” is a searing, emotional, and beautifully layered novel about the cost of love, the burden of secrets, and the healing power of resilience. With unforgettable characters and cinematic scenes, it paints a portrait of a woman who loses everything and finds herself. This is not just a story of broken vows. it is a story of power reclaimed, dignity restored, and hope reborn.

  • The Lover Who Never Existed
  • The Lover Who NTHE AUTHOR CHIONYE HENCS ODIAKA Chionye Hencs Odiaka is a Nigerian humanitarian, author, writer, and researcher whose interest in romance fraud grew from a desire to understand not only how scammers operate, but why seemingly intelligent, educated and emotionally vulnerable people can become deeply involved with them. Over the years, Odiaka has conducted extensive research into romance scams and has spoken with individuals familiar with the activities and methods used by online fraudsters. Through these conversations, he has gained first-hand insight into how some scammers identify potential victims, construct false identities, build emotional connections, manipulate trust and eventually introduce financial demands. His research also draws on the experiences of reported victims, public law-enforcement investigations, documented cases, fraud-prevention organisations, academic research and other credible sources examining romance fraud and online deception. Rather than viewing victims simply as people who “should have known better,” Odiaka has sought to understand the psychological and emotional journey that can lead a person from an ordinary online conversation to deep emotional attachment, financial dependence and, in some cases, devastating financial loss. This research has also exposed an important reality: romance fraud is not simply about sending a deceptive message and asking for money. It can involve carefully constructed identities, stolen photographs, fabricated careers, emotional manipulation, prolonged communication and strategies designed to make victims believe that the relationship is genuine. In writing The Lover Who Never Existed, Odiaka brings together these different perspectives to examine the scam from both sides of the deception: how the fraudster thinks and operates, and how the victim experiences the relationship. The book draws upon reported cases, victim experiences, investigative findings and research to explain why loneliness, trust, emotional attachment and hope can become powerful tools in the hands of a skilled manipulator. Odiaka’s objective is not to encourage readers to distrust people because of their nationality, profession, age or location. Instead, he seeks to teach readers something more useful: How to recognize manipulation. How to question what appears convincing. How to verify an online identity. How to recognize the warning signs before emotional attachment becomes financial exploitation. And, most importantly, how to protect yourself without giving up the possibility of genuine human connection. The Lover Who Never Existed is the product of extensive inquiry into a form of fraud that can leave its victims with more than financial losses. It can leave them questioning their judgment, their relationships and their ability to trust again. Odiaka’s message is simple: Love should be built on truth. Trust should be earned. And before you give a stranger your heart, your identity or your money, make sure you know who is really on the other side of the screen.ever Existed
